Yes its a nice feature.
Here is how I done it:
1. Installed wowhead-tooltips instead of the bbtips because of the [armory] function.
2. I created custom field for Main Character and Alt 1 to 3.
3. Installed Parse BBCode in Custom Profile Fields mod
4. Users must enter in the character field the character in the [armory] [/armory] tags so it would be parsed
5. Edited the memberlist so it showed the Main character field.

IMO the dev's should consider this for inclusion. It seems very handy.

I'll second that!
it's planned (see bbTips release comments ), but it needs to be uniformized to integrate with Apply, Roster, etc.
